Eiffel Tower opening hours and time slots

The Eiffel Tower has no single timetable. Hours change with the season, the day and the part of the Tower you visit, and it can open later or close earlier on some days. The times for the day you choose appear when you book your ticket.

The Tower can close because of bad weather, a strike or a special event. If your date is affected, the terms of your ticket apply.

Choose a date and, if you can, a morning slot

Tickets are for a date, and the waiting time for the lifts, especially for the summit, can be long. Book a slot that suits your day and arrive a little early.

Stairs or lift

The ticket you choose decides whether you go up by lift or on foot. The stairs go as far as the second floor, with more than 600 steps. To reach the summit you always take a lift from the second floor.

At the entrance

Travel light and leave large bags at your hotel. Keep an eye on your belongings around the base of the Tower and in the lifts.

How long should you allow?

Guided tours last between 1 hour 30 minutes and 2 hours. If you go on your own, count on a good part of the morning or the afternoon, including the queues for the lifts. A cruise combination takes about 3 hours.
